Shore Power

Shore Power is one of the most likely and tangible means of reducing emissions for all sectors of the maritime industry, but availability and utilisation in the UK are both low at the moment. The reasons for this are partly due to issues around availability of energy infrastructure, uncertainty in technical solutions and demand profiles together with economic and regulatory obstacles.

This two part, 60 minute webinar brings together government, academia, shipowners, ports, energy and shore power providers to shed light on the current situation of shore power for the maritime sector. On Wednesday the discussion will focus on the current policies in place in the UK, and the challenges and opportunities which both the shipowners and the ports face. Thursday’s webinar fill focus much more on the technical aspects of shore power, looking at retrofitting, installation and regulations surrounding the use of shore power.
