Bulletin: Supply chains and LISW
As we firmly hit summer season the work of the Chamber continues.
This week I met with DfT officials to discuss the new Freight Council which has been set up to look at the issue of supply chain resilience and logistics more generally both here in the UK and around the world.
We know there have been backlogs at ports around the world for some time and over the coming months I look forward to the Chamber progressing the work of the new Council with the government and the other organisations who have been invited to take part to ensure our supply chain remains as resilient as possible.
As we look ahead towards London International Shipping Week I am delighted to officially confirm that the Shipping Minister Robert Courts will be opening our decarbonisation event Thursday 16 September.
With thanks to our sponsors for the event DNV, Bureau Veritas and ABS, the Voyage to Decarbonisation event will convene senior executives from leading Classification Societies DNV, Lloyd’s Register, Bureau Veritas and ABS to discuss how the shipping companies can navigate the most disruptive period in the shipping history and head toward a sustainable low carbon shipping future. The event is taking place at 30 Park Street and members can attend in person.
You can book your ticket for the event here and over the coming weeks I will use my bulletin to profile our other LSIW events. But if you want to read more about what we have planned please go to our website.
