Commenting on the news, UK Chamber of Shipping Chief Executive Bob Sanguinetti said:

“As momentum builds towards our first ever Virtual Conference, I am absolutely delighted that both the Transport Secretary Grant Shapps and Guy Platten from the ICS have agreed to be part of the event. Shipping has played a vital role in keeping Britain supplied in the last 12 months and having the Secretary of State for Transport speak at the Conference is a clear demonstration of the importance the government attaches to the UK shipping sector.”

The Chamber’s first ever Virtual Conference: Creating Pathways to 2030, will see industry leaders come together and look at the key challenges facing the UK shipping industry in the short-to-mid-term. Its aim is to generate pathways for the next decade which will enable progress to be measured towards safer and cleaner shipping.
