09 Feb 22 Meet the Chamber blog: Susan Bell MNTB Careers and Training Manager Susan Bell shares some insights into her life at work and outside. What's your role? My role as MNTB Training & Careers Manager is being responsible for course administration for all MEF Cadets, across various Maritime Colleges and Training Providers. I also manage our ‘Careers at Sea’ website and Ambassador programme, as well as other general careers promotion activities.Last book you read?During lockdown 3.0, my friends started a reading club called ‘Reading between the Wines’. The latest book was Reaching down the Rabbit Hole by Brian Burrell. It was not to my taste, but good to delve into a new genre.Favourite holiday destination? This is a tough one, but I would have to go for an island in Greece called Paros! It’s beautiful, relaxing and a real gem in the Aegean. One thing that would surprise you about me..I’m a Glaswegian – don’t let the accent fool you!Career highlightToo many to pick from, but I’m sure the best is yet to come…The person you most admire and why?I can’t pick one, I have four – my Grandparents! Recent years have made me reflect on those living through World War 2. My granddad was in the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders and involved in the D-Day landings. The other a Marine Engineer based in Southampton during the War. One Grandmother was in the Land Army, whilst the other was evacuated due to the Clydebank Blitz. The courage, resilience and strength of all four is inspiring and admirable Share:
