30 Jun 21 Supporting our cadets Supporting our cadets The COVID – 19 Pandemic continues to affect all our lives, but the long-term impact on seafarer training and education is far reaching, with too many of our young UK cadets currently in training still struggling to obtain the required sea time. Following a campaign by the UK Chamber of Shipping and the MNTB last year, many companies came forward with offers of additional berths and we have managed to secure sea time for over twenty cadets which is fantastic, but we need many more if we are to manage the back log of students with no sea time. If you are a shipping company and think that you can help just one cadet to secure much needed sea time, please get in touch with me at kathryn.neilson@mntb.org.uk to find out how you can help.Your support has and will make a huge difference.
